Thank you for your Interest!

Dear Prospective Debutante,

Thank you for your interest in Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority’s Debutante Cotillion Scholarship Program.  The Sorority looks for young ladies who exemplify academic excellence, poise, leadership and respect within their schools and communities. The Debutante Cotillion Scholarship Program fosters the educational goals of college-bound young women by giving those who have demonstrated exemplary moral standards, school involvement and community service activities the opportunity to participate in a wide range of workshops and activities.

At the end of the debutante season, we will celebrate with a Cotillion for all of your family and friends as they welcome the Debutante class as Polished, Poised and Prepared members of society. We are excited about the fun activities planned and hope that you are too!

Being a debutante requires time, work, and dedication, but it will reap great rewards. These may include college scholarships and other program incentives. Before applying, please consider the following minimum requirements.

To be presented, a prospective Debutante must:

1. Be classified as a high school freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior as of fall 2025

2. Exhibit high moral and ethical standards.

3. Pay a non-refundable $200 initial fee that can be raised by selling tickets, ads and donations

4. Purchase/sell a minimum of 20 tickets to the Debutante Scholarship Cotillion.

5.  Solicit a minimum of 5 pages of ads for the Souvenir Book.

6. Attend program events, workshops, and cotillion rehearsals (outlined in Debutante calendar).

7. Select a reliable young man to escort (ages 16-19) and an adult male escort (father or father-figure) for the final cotillion. Selected men will be required to attend some workshops and practice sessions.

To be considered for the Dr. Cleo Boyd Scholarship, participants must include a copy of their transcript in their Debutant packet. The Dr. Cleo Boyd scholarship is awarded to Debutante with the highest verified GPA.

If able to meet these minimum requirements, applicants are asked to do the following:

Complete the 2026 Debutante Program Application – including essay, transcripts and two recommendation forms. Incomplete packets will not be reviewed. Submit the application below or follow other directions as provided. Program fees are non-refundable.
