Essay
An essay is a piece of writing that presents an argument, explains a topic, or tells a story, typically structured with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
Parts of an essay

Body:
Develops the argument or explanation with evidence, analysis, and supporting points in separate paragraphs.

Conclusion:
Summarizes the main arguments and restates the thesis in a new way, often offering a final thought or call to action.

Introduction:
Introduces the topic and presents the essay's main point or thesis statement.
Cotillion Essay

The personal essay helps us to become acquainted with you as a person and a student. It will also demonstrate your ability to organize and express your thoughts. Please write an essay (400 words or less, but not less than 200 words) answering one of the questions listed below. ​

Times New Roman), double-spaced, and submitted at a designated date. The Debutante will present her essay at the Debutante Appreciation Banquet that is held after the Scholarship Cotillion.
